okay, it's official, i'm sick. :(
booooo... i never get sick!! really, once, twice a year tops. last year,
it was new year's eve. how awful is that? and then that awful coughing
thing that i couldn't shake which had me up for 4 days at a time with no
sleep cuz i couldn't stop coughing. talk about nightmare. the worst
part? i haven't been at my job long enough to accrue any sick days, so
i'd have to take the day off unpaid. grr. i'm slowly losing the ability
to breathe thru my nose.
on another note, w burned me all
american rejects, and i admit i really like it. :) it reminds me of 80's
new wave!! the lyrics are really teeny-bopper broken heart stuff, but
the tunes are really catchy. i find myself singing really loud in the
car. heee...

went on another great hike on saturday.
this time in half moon bay. since we didn't have the digicam, no
pictures to share, but here's
info on the hike if you're interested. :) w is on this thing where he
wants to go hiking every weekend, weather permitting. it'll keep us both
in shape. we dragged our friends l and d with us this time. we spent a
lot of time with them this weekend. they are the friends that just got
engaged, so on friday night we all went to yancy's on irving and 10th,
where we drank ourselves silly. then went to tart to tart for some
dessert. thought of e_mc
while parusing the sweets. on sunday l and d had a superbowl "party"
where i ate so much my stomach hurt. that's my weekend in a nutshell.
how was your's?

i hate that feeling after you get off a
treadmill...it's so disorienting, so dizzying. i'm always afraid i'm
going to just fall or trip on something, so i try to hold on to
something as quick as possible! hahaha, i wonder what the other people
at the gym are thinking as i stumble off the treadmill and grab the
window sill for dear life!

word of advice for all you sony cybershot
owners: do not drop your cybershots, they are not as tough as they look!
;) w and i went hiking saturday at mcnee ranch in montara (just south of
pacifica) and in passing of the cybershot from one hand to another (much
like a baton in a relay race), the cybershot decided it wanted to kiss
the dirt. so far the only thing we can find wrong with it is the lack of
zooming action. and an annoying beeping sound when first turned on. but
other than that, picture taking seems intact. luckily w bought the
extended warranty from best buy. *phew* anyways, the hike was GREAT! if
there are any avid hikers out there, w discovered a very handy-dandy website with tons of places to hike,
and lots of info, including pictures! so check it out if you're in the
mood for an adventure. our pictures from mcnee are to your right. the
last one is of the sunset on the beach when we got back to the car. can
you believe it's january?!

do they still have abc afterschool
specials? i totally remember watching those movies in like 6th or 7th
grade. what do kids watch now? do kids even watch tv after school? i
imagine they're playing video games or surfing the web or something.
speaking of video games, my thumb hurts from playing so much super mario
sunshine yesterday. :(

SOS: our house is being taken over by
video games!! now we have them all--ps2, gamecube and our newest
addition, xbox!
this trip to hawaii is really stressing me out.
i really don't want to go anymore. :( i keep thinking that there is no
way i can afford this trip, even with my tax refund. grr...i'm really
irritated that w's [idiot] step-sister decided to have her wedding in
kauai. what a burden on us all. and now that w is unemployed, it's not
like we can afford to take a vacation! i can't even afford to buy
groceries right now! (i have $1 and some change in my wallet, and a
little over $9 in my checking account. i don't know if i can make it til
thursday, my next payday.) but it's too late for me to back out, we've
got our plane tix, our inter-island flights, our hotels are booked, our
rental cars too. :( i hope my attitude will change once i'm there. i was
planning to go skydiving, but i don't think i can spend that kind of
money... i hate this, i know money doesn't buy happiness, but you know,
sometimes it really helps!

"i owe, i owe so off to work i
go" --bumper sticker on truck in front of me on
freeway
that just about sums it all up.

have you seen bowling for columbine?
man, talk about disturbing. it just paints a really horrible picture of
american society, and our paranoia as a general population. they show
clips from the shooting at columbine high school, and it was so
disturbing i couldn't help but cry. i don't want to give away too much
in case you haven't seen it (in which case you really should, it's still
playing in theaters). but i have to say i love the last interview with
charleton heston. what a superb fella. :P
w and i had one of
those really great talks the other night. i can't remember how it
started, we were in the car driving home from having dinner with my
parents, and we started talking about our initial impressions of each
other and how our mutual friend was so addament about us dating, even
tho i had a boyfriend at the time. well, somehow the conversation ended
up somewhere along the lines of how one little thing in your life can
change everything. i won't go into the boring details, but it just made
me think that even tho i may have many regrets (well, not many, but a
few), i can't say that i would want to change them if i could, cuz i
wouldn't be where i'm at today, or surrounded by the people that i
absolutely cannot imagine living without. funny how things work. that
one decision leads the way to so much more...

okay, i think gene from oxenrose has
revalidated my faith in hairstylists!! he's an interesting guy, like a
black man trapped in a white man's body. he's super friendly but not all
chit chatty where he isn't working on my hair. and my hair is exactly
what i wanted him to do! thanks v, for the great referral!! gene rocks!!
the scalp/neck massage was worth it alone. so if anyone out there in the
sf area is looking for a new hairstylist, go to gene!
i started
watching star search, and they totally changed the format and it's just
not the same. but i did end up watching the bachelorette only cuz my
roommate was, and it was pretty interesting. i'm trying not to get too
addicted to too many reality tv shows, but sometimes it gets so
outrageous, it's hard not to watch! hahaha...what a couch
potato!
i need to clean now. buh-bye!

on my way to work, the guy in the car
behind me had a cigarette in one hand while brushing his
teeth with the other!! ahhh!!! what the...?!
btw, yes, i did
watch joe millionaire, and yes i thought it had high entertainment
value, thank you very much. no, i am not watching bachlerette, but i am
watching star search!! hee

i was doing a search on "burberry bag" on
google, and my blog popped up!!! hahaha...that's funny.
i still
can't believe it's 2003. ever since i graduated school and entered the
workforce, i've noticed that time has just flown by. that really scares
me. but i have made a haircut appointment with gene for next saturday
(recommended by vivalacious). i have
to admit, i'm not looking forward to it...too many bad haircut
experiences has scarred me. i was on the verge of being forced to just
grow out my hair til it touched the ground like those ladies you see on
those make-over shows who haven't cut their hair in 20 years. gross, can
you imagine??
in other news, i know 5 people that have gotten
engaged between christmas eve and new year's day. wow, that's a lot of
engagements. i've heard some really great engagements stories, and i got
to thinking, how do these people come up with that? if you were to
propose to someone, how would you do it? i don't even know where to
begin. and i don't really want to think about that right now...
