*phew* that was too close for comfort.
(ruben almost got voted off! wtf is america thinking...hullo??)
i
don't understand how girls can run wearing a regular bra.
that just isn't healthy. (didn't mean to throw that out, but it's
interesting what you find at the gym these days)

i just thought of another childhood
memory related to dogs. when i lived in fresno, my parents had friends
with 7 kids, and i used to hang out at their house all the time,
especially during summers. one day, a few of us were walking back to
their house from somewhere (can't remember where...the park where we
usually played maybe??), and jay-yi uhn-yi was walking next to me, two
others in front of us, when jay-yi uhn-yi stops talking and shushes us.
i could hear jingling behind us. i turned around, and holysh*t there's a
huge black dog right behind me! i freak out, and start walking faster.
by now, everyone's noticed this large dog. we're about a block from
their house, and we just start running. well, running from a dog is just
about the dumbest thing you could ever do. but we ran. luckily, other
kids were home and the door was unlocked, and we all ran as hard as we
could into the house. the dog chased us for a little bit, but lost
interest i guess, cuz by the time we were all save behind the screen
door, the dog was just trotting along the sidewalk. *sigh* i was about
6. scary. and yet i'm once again amazed that i don't have a fear of
dogs...

after three attempts and three failures,
i've come to realize that i'm not very good at baking cakes. i think i
have the cookie thing down. but cakes...sheesh. i even took a cake
baking class, and the instructor reassured me that i didn't need to be
afraid of meringue. grr...if i can't figure it out soon, i may have to
just stick to boxed cake mix. *sigh*

since i had such an eventful weekend,
thought i'd tell you about it (since most of my weekends are spent
sitting in front of the tv...).
friday: met up with viva, j, and v's
friend b to watch better
luck tomorrow. i didn't know much about the film, but thought it was
pretty good. i won't talk about it, cuz i know a lot of ppl have yet to
see it, don't want to ruin it... but it was great to see v and j as
always.
saturday: went shopping at santana row with my mom, to check
it out. very "high class" boutique-y, ended up at valley fair. my mom's
bday was thursday, and my dad and i wanted to get her something nice. i
bought her new golf shoes. then took my dad shopping for new work shoes.
sunday: w's dad invited us and some friends to his house for an
easter bbq. we grubbed...it was my only meal that day. that night, met
up with threedot at
great american music hall to see versus! great show, had a
fantastic time. the ringing in my ears was definitely worth it. i wonder
how deaf i'll be when i'm like 50... anyhoo, thanks to koji for telling
me about the show in the first place, and getting us tix, and hanging
out with your chipotle chips. :)
i came to this revelation not so
long ago. my coworkers at BAL were a lot more interesting to me than my
coworkers now at RCHMB. BALers were just into things i hadn't been
exposed to, so it was refreshing, you know? RCHMBers are, well, a
different breed in a sense. my coworkers in my dept are all sales-based,
so everyone is into drinking heavily and shmoozing (which i hate!). i
kinda miss my BALers...but i'm sure it's a much much different world
there now.

it's kinda weird for me to hang out with
coworkers for some reason. i'm not used to the idea of hanging out with
people i work with, outside of work. you see a side of them that i
sometimes don't want to see!! tonight my department went to bacar to celebrate exceeding our 1st
quarter budget. the food was really good, and one of my coworkers used
to work there as an event planner, and knew the manager, so we all got
totally hooked up!! but like i said, get a few drinks in people and
they're a totally different character...tho it made for a very
interesting evening!! but the food is really yum...especially this one
dessert with bananas...it was the best darn banana i've ever eaten! :) i
didn't drink too much (surprise surprise) cuz i don't think i'm ready to
show my coworkers my "asian flush." hehehe...it's so
embarassing...

e_mc has inspired me to
share my first childhood memory. i'm actually surprised i'm not scarred
for life! physically and emotionally. i was 3, and my parents and i were
living in coalinga, which is the mid point between SF and LA (my dad
worked for john harris, of harris ranch, you know, off of i-5 where all
the smelly cows are??). my dad was a mechanic, and the garage was only
about 100 yards from our house. on this memorable day, i decided i
wanted to go visit my dad. so i got on my little tricycle and pedaled
over to the garage, said hi to my dad who strapped 2 bottles of coke for
me and my mom onto the back of my tricycle, and i proceeded to pedal
back home. my mom could see me from the kitchen window, so all was
safe...or so they thought! just then, mr. harris pulls up in his big
truck and opens the door, and out jumps his two HUGE dogs, a st. bernard
and a doberman. i kid you not, they both started running straight at me.
i stopped pedalling and screamed bloody murder. little did i know they
were very old dogs and had no teeth. they just wanted to play, and
actually knocked me off my tricycle. my dad ran to my rescue, laughing,
cuz apparently this was funny to him (he knew the dogs had no teeth). my
mom came running out to join us and carried me home, bawling. so there
it is, my first childhood memory. just great, isn't it? actually, i
vaguely remember my first earthquake, just after we moved to coalinga
from korea...but it's not quite as clear. so you'd think i'd be deathly
afraid of dogs, but i actually absolutely adore them and can't wait to
have a house with a yard so that i can have 1, 2 maybe... :)

debacle. i like saying that word. like
superfluous. they're two words i've never actually used in a sentence,
but like the sounds of them. debacle. superfluous. superfluous
debacle.
hehee...

for w's milestone b-day, i surprised him
with a trip to vegas!! and i pulled it off, he was actually surprised! i
was very proud of myself cuz i've never done anything like this before.
anyways, we stayed at the brand new ritz-carlton, lake las vegas, which
is 17 miles southeast of the strip, and right down the "street" from
lake mead. anyways, we went to kind of scope out the place, check out
the new property, look at some houses. i've learned 3 things: 1) you can
buy a REALLY nice house for REALLY cheap; 2) the way the market is, i
think it will be a great investment and a great opportunity to make some
money...but 3) vegas is vegas. it's still got that trashy feeling...
*sigh* i don't know...i go back and forth about moving out there. we'll
see... anyways, got some really great picks of the strip from the top of
the stratosphere on saturday night so will have to post those soon...
still working on my hawaii album (sorry it's taking so long...) but will
share it as soon as it's ready!

woa, scary flashback... on my way to the
gym tonight, i nearly hit a big raccoon! about 3 years ago, some animal
ran into my car while i was on the freeway (okay, so maybe i ran
into it, but it was definitely suicidal). i don't know what i
hit, but the damage to my car was greater than i expected. my bumper was
cracked, the blinker was shattered, and the metal piece that
holds up my blinker was broken. i remember the second after the
collision, my cd skipped, and not just your usual 1/10 of a second
skip...i'm talking for at least 2 whole seconds. i couldn't believe a
little animal did that to my car. i was afraid i'd find animal fur
and/or blood on my car, or worse, the dead animal still hanging on...but
luckily, there was nothing, just a busted bumper. i was very upset at
the thought of having to get a new bumper for my car (especially when i
had it for less than 2 years!), but i was very sad for this suicidal
animal. rip.
okay, so i really want ruben to win american
idol.
