oh, i forgot to mention...our trip to
japan is finalized!!! woohoo! and my wish to spend NYE somewhere cool is
actually gonna happen! because of the new year holiday in japan, it was
a LOT cheaper to fly out before jan.1, so we're now leaving 12/29,
hanging out with l & d in nagoya, with trips planned to osaka and
kyoto, among others. then head over to toyko for TAS
2004!! can't wait!!!!! but first, must stay excited for NYC! i can't
believe we have two trips back to back. still, this is just a great
opportunity, and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

okay, now i know why w and his friends
love track days so much.
we left for lost hills on thursday
evening, and arrived at the grossest motel 6 around 11:30pm. okay, i
admit i'm pretty spoiled by my stays at rc hotels, but this was just
nasty. and to top things off, the water was soft, so it felt like the
soap on my hands wasn't rinsing off. weird. don't get me started with
how my hair felt after my shower. ew.
friday morning we woke up
bright and early and headed out to buttonwillow raceway. the
others (some of whom also stayed at the motel 6) slowly crawled in, and
at about 8:30, the guys started going around the track. mostly RX7's, a
miata, a 240a corolla GTS, and a few hondas. even a WRX snuck in. w took
me for a ride in the CRX, and i had to admit it was pretty fun.
eventually, after much coaxing by the guys, i even took a spin, with w
as my copilot, telling me when to hug the outside, the inside, brake,
accelerate. that was probably the highlight. i was racing around the
track!! woohoo! later in the day, others started rolling in. then some
dude came with an RSX typeS on a trailer! wtf? it looked like a show
car, seriously, with a body kit, fancy big rims... but he was tearing it
up on the track pretty good. crazy if you ask me. after a total of 4
blown tires, a minor "incident" with a fence, overflowing radiators,
LOTS of dirt on the track (those damn drifters!) and uncontrollable
smoke from a tailpipe, we started packing up about 4:30pm. our friend
took pics with his fancy canon SLR/digital (we're talking one serious
camera), so whenever he gets around to sending us those, i'll be sure to
post them. i took a few, but haven't seen how good/bad they are yet.
hey, taking pics of fast moving objects isn't my fortay. okay?
so
we didn't get to have our thanksgiving yet, but we're going to a
friend's house whose parents are making dinner for us! i guess we'll
have our turkey dinner tomorrow night.

this thanksgiving, my parents decided to
take a trip to hawaii with a bunch of their friends. so i will be
spending it with boyfriend and his friends in buttonwillow, near
bakersfield, while they zip around a race track. me? i'll probably be
catching up on my reading, playing video games on my gba, and taking the
occasional obligatory photo of w drifting. :P well, it could be worse.
happy thanksgiving all.

i forgot to tell you about the funny
vanity plate we saw on our way home yesterday! i totally laughed out
loud. loudly. :) it said: "IMF[heartshape]N" okay, i don't know about
you, but i read that as "I am fartin'" hahahaha... oh really?

although the weather reported very little
snowfall in the past week, we were still hopeful for some decent
snowboarding. we were a bit too optimistic. decided to just go to
heavenly, since we got a room at timber
lodge with my discount, and talk about convenient! you walk thru the
lobby and there's the gondala, just a few steps away. amazing. after the
very long ride up the mountain, we found out only 3 lifts were open, but
they were all blues and a black, so we weren't too bummed. still, i have
to warm up on a green first, to get acclamated with the snow, and since
that didn't happen, it was a sink or swim situation and i sunk to the
bottom. i had a horrible day, caught a few edges and bruised both knees.
grr. and, it was FREEZING. they said with the windchill, it was -15,
which we didn't believe, but it was pretty damn cold. going up on the
lifts was no picnic. my face was so cold my brain hurt! that night, it
dropped down to 7 degrees, with a morning high of 19! sheesh! cold winds
mixed with little to no snowfall means lots of ice. not fun. one good
thing tho, i love my new boots!!
i think i'll save my next trip
for after a major snow storm. or better yet, make a trip out to bachelor
gulch!!

again, taken from qtr life, from the friday five:
1. List
five things you'd like to accomplish by the end of the year. 1. make
and send out my xmas cards before xmas 2. spend NYE somewhere cool
(say...japan?) 3. get my credit card debt down to $xxx (sorry, don't
feel like disclosing the exact amount.) 4. clean my room (yes, it's
that messy) 5. lose those last 5 lbs. :)
2. List five people
you've lost contact with that you'd like to hear from again. 1-5. no
one really, i pretty much keep in contact with everyone i want to.
3. List five things you'd like to learn how to do. 1.
surf 2. fly a plane 3. cook as well as my mom 4. speak
spanish 5. sew really well, so that someday i can make my own suits!
hahaha, okay, maybe that's a bit far-fetched.
4. List five things
you'd do if you won the lottery (no limit). 1. pay off my parent's
mortgage 2. pay off all my debt 3. buy a vacation house in
tahoe 4. buy a vacation house in hawaii, probably on maui or
kauai 5. invest the rest and live very well off the interest
5. List five things you do that help you relax. 1. work
out 2. play the piano 3. just sit on the couch and watch mindless
tv 4. go shopping 5. sleeping note: funny thing, these things
also can get me pumped up...

i can't seem to find my depeche mode
black celebration CD. it's really bugging me. i love that disc.
i'm still on my k-pop craze. i just bought 5 CDs from
yesasia.com. i am really liking them so far. :) whenever i get a new CD,
i listen to it from beginning to end twice. by the second time, i can
usually pinpoint the songs i really like, and just repeat those over and
over (and over...). i really like it when i get a CD that i can listen
to beginning to end. i just feel like i got my money's worth, you know?

i can't believe i went out two nights in
a row! hahaha...i rarely ever go out, let alone twice in one weekend.
friday night was low-key, hung out at XYZ at the W with
coworkers to say goodbye to a couple leaving for our new property in
south beach, florida. it was interesting to be at the W, which is a
high-end hotel, but not known for good service. but oh-so-chic and
trendy. the concierges wear all black and sit at a fancy desk with fancy
decor, and headsets. sometimes i think it would be nice to work for a
hotel like the W, where you can give a little attitude to the guests and
it's okay. :P i really enjoy hanging out with my coworkers outside of
work, where they can leave their stresses behind, and just have fun.
they're sooo different, in a good way. i drank half of a badly-made
vodka collins (i think the bartender used lemonade instead of club soda
and "twist of lemon") and felt buzzed. how sad is
that??
saturday, w and i drove all over the bay area in search of
new snowboarding boots for me, in preparation for our first trip to the
snow next weekend! so i was very excited to invest in a new pair of
salomons, on sale, AND they match my board and bindings! i swear i
didn't plan it! i bought all my stuff 2 years ago, on sale, for dirt
cheap. i love my board and bindings, but hated my boots, so i'm glad to
have a new pair. these should last me a long time! now if i could just
find the time to get my board tuned...
saturday night a group of
us went to the city to celebrate t's birthday. had dinner at gordan
beirsch (i know i spelled that wrong), not my fave place to eat, but the
company was great. afterwards went to butterfly lounge, which made a bad
first impression on me, but turned out better, tho the music was whack
and the dj seemed like an amateur. but again, the compay was great, and
it was fun to hang out with ppl i don't see enough. the night would've
been great, had it not been for spilling t's drink all over my LAP, and
looking and feeling like i peed my pants. ugh. luckily it happened at
the end of the night, and not the beginning. but it was funny, and i
couldn't help but laugh at my bad luck. but talking to t and her
boyfriend (who live in hoboken, nj) made me even more excited about my
trip to nyc!! i'm literally counting down the days. *whee*

why do ppl drive so stupid in the rain? i
saw 3 accidents on the way home from work. and some idiot came up so
close to me i hit my breaks to freak him out enough to force him to back
off, hopefully realizing that the roads are slick and he really should
give me more than 6 inches to spare. i almost wished him to hit me so i
could drain every dollar out of him. bastard.
on a brighter note,
i just finished the da
vinci code, and it was sooo good. there were parts i didn't care for
(which i will not disclose as this time, as there are ppl who read this
blog that are reading this book now, or about to in the near future).
but it reeeeally makes me curious to read more about the topic, and find
out if this is all really true! i wonder how much of it was totally made
up. i would like to speak with this dan brown. i think i'll go play on
the website now. :)

taken from qtr life who got it from
friday five:
1. What
food do you like that most people hate? buttered popcorn jelly
bellies!!
2. What food do you hate that most people love? this is
a tough one, cuz there aren't too many food items that i hate, but i'd
go with cilantro. and eggplant. blech.
3. What famous person,
whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you?
ashanti. i don't see why everyone goes gaga over her. she's not ugly,
but she's really not that cute. just my opinion.
4. What famous
person, whom many people may find unappealing, do you find attractive?
hmm...famous person...does anyone else think mike myers is adorable? i
think a lot of it has to do with his humorous personality. how 'bout
johnny depp. even tho he's old, there's still somethin about him...
;)
5. What popular trend baffles you? uh, pretty much they all
do. i think i'm just behind the times or something.

it's amazing how accurate my weatherpixie
is! i just noticed it was raining, not by looking out the window, but by
looking at my weatherpixie! woa...
so i woke up this morning at
5am, like every morning, and felt okay. throat was a bit scratchy, but
nothing to stop my usual routine. went to the gym, ran on the treadmill,
came home and got ready for work. on the drive to work, felt a bit
yucky, but trudged on. got to work, and things just got worse and worse
as the minutes passed. so after 3 hours, finished all my "urgent" tasks
and came home. ugh. i hate hate hate being sick. i need to shake this by
tomorrow.

for the past two years now, my roommate
and i have been getting messages on our answering machine from ppl
looking for their medical supplies. for the past two years now, i've
been calling them all back to let them know that i don't have their
father's oxygen tank, or mother's wheelchair, or whatever, and that they
must have dialed the wrong number. they're usually very thankful for the
call, then apologetic for bothering us. no biggie. heaven forbid anyone
run out of their oxygen! sheesh. but now, two years later, it's really
starting to irritate me. i wonder if it costs money to change our phone
number?

square festivities, and all that crap. :) I CAN'T WAIT!!!
