according to my pedometer, today i walked
5.2 miles, over 14,000 steps and burned 499 calories. and today was a
slow day. very interesting... :)

i bought a pedometer today. i'm curious
to see how many miles i walk everyday at work. yes, miles.
it's
crazy to think, how i can look at a gas station sign that has gas for
$2.29 and think "wow, that's so cheap!"
i'm debating if i want
to go to the madonna "reinvention" concert. i was at her last concert,
which was supposed to be her LAST concert. i guess it'll depend on the
price of tix. i don't think i can afford to spend $100+ for it. again.

DISMISSED!! woohoo!! i'll be expecting my
check for $45 plus mileage shortly. thank you.
i actually would
have liked to be on the case, if it weren't for the fact that you get
paid so little, and my work is getting extremely busy. i got dismissed
yesterday, just before lunchtime, and i ran a few errands, had lunch
with w, and then called in work to see how things were. damn it, they
needed me to come in. so i worked from 4 til 11pm!! :( and now it's back
to work this morning. *sigh* i know, wah wah wah. :P
but the case
was for the murder of a transgender person, living in newark, which is
right next door to where my parents live (and where i grew up). i
actually went to school with one of the defendant's sister, very weird.
but the guy didn't look familiar. anyways, there were 3 men accused of
murdering him/her. i remember when it first happened back in '02, and
then there i was, so close to getting on that jury. yikes. i'm glad i
don't have to go back to court, and i can go back to living my life!!
okay, gotta go to work now.

jury duty still. this sucks. :( i didn't
realize how looong this process would be. i really don't think i'm the
best person for this particular jury, and i really wish the judge and
lawyers would see that and just excuse me already. *hmph*

worked 7 days in a row...i'm exhausted.
last night, i fell asleep at 8:30, woke up in time to catch SNL, fell
back asleep at 12:30am, and woke up by my alarm at 8! and i'm getting
sleepy (it' not even 9:30!!). luckily, i have the next two days off.
only bad thing is i have to go to jury duty again tomorrow. :( i really
hope they dismiss me. *sigh* i think i'll go to bed now. *yawn*

somebody please tell me why i just had to
pay $68 for a smog check?! why is it so expensive all of a sudden?! this
makes me very irritable. i'm just glad i passed. now i can get the damn
2005 sticker for my car. sheesh.
my new job is going great. :)
i've never walked so much in my life, i swear! but it's nice not to be
behind a desk all the time! it's annoying having to wear an ear-piece
for my radio (walkie talkie), but they say i'll get used to it. it's fun
putting out the fires around the hotel, you get a real sense of
accomplishment. :) and tomorrow, i have to be at work at 6am, which
sucks, but then i get off at 2! woohoo!! get to enjoy this great
weather! except that my allergies are acting up. not good.

dag nabbit, they've finally caught up to
me. :( i had to report for jury duty this morning! i swear the day i
turned 18, i did my civic duty by registering to vote, and it took them
literally a couple months to summons me. well, i was still in high
school, so i got out of it. and almost every year since then, i've been
summonsed. i swear they're after me. i never even voted. ever. so they
unregistered me, yet they still want me to serve on their damn jury! i
don't think i'll get selected tho. without going into too much detail,
the case is actually a pretty high-profile bay area murder case (yes, i
said murder), and my friend knows the defendant's brother, they all went
to school together. crazy. and i know too many ppl who have been
"victimized." i think i'm out. i hope. but then again, it would be kinda
neat to be on a murder trial jury! altho it would suck to be sequesterd.
so i had my first massage ever on saturday, at the spa at bacara in santa
barbara, and it was just heavenly. first, it was just a great massage
tho i have nothing to compare it to, and second, the resort and spa are
sooooo nice, it makes HMB look like the motel 6! okay, not really, but
it was pretty darn nice. and huge. and they had fancy waters and lots of
fruit and fancy hair products for us to use in the locker room. very
nice. we spent the whole day saturday there. i think i'm ready for
another massage. :)
it's so hot here. this morning, on my way
to the courthouse, i had to turn the AC on just to keep from breaking
into a sweat in my car. it was 8:30 in the morning!! i don't know what's
going on, this is summer weather, not even spring. strange.

yumm...slurpee.... :P i think i like my
cherry coke slurpee more than a jamba juice. i don't feel as stuft after
drinking one. and it's so refreshing on a hot day like today! went to
san jose to run errands, and even the AC in my car wasn't helping with
the heat! sheesh. but found great shoes for MS's wedding, for only $11!
i love DSW!!! it's weird having a weekday off. cuz there's no one to
hang out with. :( i guess i'll have to get used to this... boo.

found something new: running to nine inch
nails is a great way to start the morning! it's interesting to me when i
think about nine inch nails, cuz they certainly aren't the typical
musical stylings that i go for. my freshman year in high school, i had a
mad crush on a senior who was the teacher's aid in one of my classes,
and he loooooved nine inch nails. i think he literally owned every
CD/tape/vinyl ever printed of theirs. he actually introduced me to a lot
of interesting music, oingo boingo, front 242, nitzer ebb, primus, and
NIN, among many others. he used to make me mix tapes. :) i think i still
have them somewhere. too bad i don't have a tape player, cuz i would
love to listen to them! ah, mix tapes. *chuckles*

what a strange day ("for three strange
days..." remember that song??). it was my last day in the dept, but it
felt like it was my last day at the company! everyone was saying
goodbye, giving me a good luck card and even had noah's for breakfast!
but i kept reminding them i'd be just down the hall, that they would
probably see me just as much as always. but still, it's not the same.
i'm sad to be leaving. the 3 coordinators rocked, we had such a great
vibe, and worked so well together. we were a dynamic team. it's like the
end of an era. hahaha, okay, i'll stop being so dramatic. :P
this
weekend will be spent in lovely santa barbara! it's my friend bridal
weekend, with spa treatments on saturday, lots of food and dancing and
partying in SB! in college, we used to go to SB to party all the time,
driving back to SLO (just over an hour) at 4 or 5 in the morning, crazy.
it'll be nice to be back there, it's such a nice little town! maybe
we'll run into oprah.
i have the day off tomorrow. but i have so
much to do. it'll be so nice...just to be able to run all my errands!

saturday morning, w got an email, a
"special invite" to see robin williams at cobb's. bought our tix sunday
morning (sold out in 10 minutes!), for monday night's show. this was the
first time we'd been to cobb's since they moved from ghirardelli square.
it's a lot bigger, and parking is SO much easier. our seats were great,
and robin, he was very funny. i wonder what it's like to be him. how his
mind works. i swear i missed like every other line, cuz he just moves so
fast, one topic after another after another, without a moment's
hesitation. he's a genius. i wonder what his IQ is?
a minor
sinus headache tells me that spring is near. that and the fact that HMB
has been in the 70's so far this week, and last night at 10:30pm i was
walking around SF with a short-sleeved shirt and pants. and not the
slightest bit cold. wow.

i had a most interesting evening
yesterday. so i went to my friend ML's wedding reception, the one from
high school that called me outta the blue on valentine's day. it was at
a very nice chinese restaurant, and we had a most delicious chinese
banquet. yum!!! i went with W and friend MS (high school friend, and
who's wedding will be my first as a bridesmaid!), who happened to live a
block away from the restaurant. we were the first at our table, and soon
after, our high school english teacher, mr. W, joins us!! whoa. then i'm
looking at this little paper thing on the table, reading the names of
the others to join us, and i see VN, a friend from high school that we
all had a great big falling out with, mostly due to stupid high school
antics. she had a really bad jealousy complex, and refused to even
acknowledge MS if she was with LA, it was all very weird. and she did
really weird things to me, to make me look really bad to our teachers.
it was all very bazaar. but i think we're all past that now (well, at
least i hope). she arrived late and we had doubts that she would show,
but she did, and it was really good to see her. i haven't seen her in
almost 9 years! she was one of our valedictorians (we had 5, we were a
very smart class), went to pomona (part of the claremont colleges) and
graduated with an astrophysics degree. yeah, she's that smart. but this
isn't the end. then, this guy approaches our table, and it turns out to
be L, a friend of W from irvine! what? turns out he's good family
friends of ML since they were kids in SF. wow, such a strange
night...but in a good way!
after talking to all these high school
ppl, i realized that ohmigosh, our 10-year reunion is coming up next
year. scary. it's been 10 years since i've graduated high school?! am i
really that old?! sh*t.
on a side note, as i was eating my haw
flakes at work today, i remembered a story of my friend who used to play
church and use haw flakes for communion. AHAHAHA...funny.
::

i loooove haw flakes! but i've always
wondered what the heck HAW is. the ingredients just say "haw and sugar."
well what the heck is haw? is it a fruit? or maybe i don't want to know
what it is...

i'm on cookie overload. literally. on
sunday, some coworkers and i had a cookie party! we each made our
favorite cookie recipe and shared it with the bunch. i ate so many
neiman marcus choco chip cookies...but they're sooo yummy. i made
hazelnut madeleines...yum!!
w is now an uncle. yesterday, his
stepsister gave birth to a baby girl. so weird to think about, this
whole process of human making.
i want to play DDR, but am too
lazy to hook up the playstation. we really need one of those switches
that you can hook up all your gaming consoles to and just push a button
to switch. *sigh* i just want new video games.
i start my new
position on march 12th. yippee! i'm getting very restless at work, and
find myself "killing time" too often. i'm very excited!!
*whee!!*
