.:: y'om say'n? word. ::.

a friend and former coworker wore this t-shirt on one casual friday, i recall it was orange, and the back of the shirt had the phrase "y'om say'n?" on it. i asked him, "what's that?" his response: "y'om say'n?" and from that day on, everytime he wore that shirt, he'd see me and say "y'om say'n?" and i'd respond with "word."

what an amazing ride...and now we're back home, ready to really be husband and wife!!

the wedding was the most incredible experience, with every emotion imaginable. it wasn't raining, but it was foggy at the winery, and it was soooooo cool. the vineyards and the chateau just looked very romantic in the fog, with the fireplace lit inside, and just the warmth felt in the entire second floor. the ceremony itself was so intimate, with all our family and friends surrounding us in the tight space by the fireplace. but it was just perfect. and then that moment, the first time i saw my groom, and he saw me...just amazing. it was like all the noise and everything was just silent, and all i could see was his smiling face at the end of the aisle. it was so surreal... and i did pretty good with the tears, that is til i had to start saying my vows! luckily his best man remembered tissue!! and then just as quickly as it had started, it had ended! and we were husband and wife!! we snuck away into the retreat where we had a moment alone to just absorb it.

then we took pictures with the families while everyone enjoyed wine and beer and appetizers. they set aside a plate of food for us, but we never even got to touch it! it looked great though! and then the dinner reception. the room looked amazing!! my florist rocks. our bouquets were gorgeous!! the bridesmaids had all white calla lillies and i had a mixture of deep red, orange, lavendar and white calla lillies, just as i had wanted! the centerpieces were these huge hurricanes with tall candles, surrounded by these really cool halos of orange berries and a few dark hydrangeas, and pomegranites and mini apples and persimmons overflowing the tables! they were sooo amazing, and everyone could not stop talking about how great they looked!! that's just what i wanted, not some overdone floral arrangement, but something different that everyone would talk about. just perfect. the food was very good, a lot better than anything i had expected. the whole entire night was just amazing, and i couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening. and my co-MC said it best when she stated that "though it's cold outside, it's very warm in here." and that's exactly how i felt.

we surprised our guests with a korean "p'ye baek" ceremony, with elaborate sets and costumes. everyone loved it and it was fun for us as well. i'm so glad we had the opportunity to show everyone that, even the korean guests loved it, cuz it's not something you see too often!

then, the dancing started, and my parent's friends all got up and rocked the dancefloor! even our DJ (a friend from college) commented on how he'd never seen so many of the elders dance so much at a wedding! and my dad continues to get compliments on what a great time their friends had. even a week later, they're still talking about it. it made me happy to see my dad so proud and happy! and then, before we knew it, the last dance, and the end of the evening. it flew by so fast, like a blink of an eye. we can't wait to see the pictures...i just love our photographer, i just know our pictures will be amazing.

then we were off to our honeymoon suite at the fairmont hotel in san jose. our suite was soooo amazing, a perfect way to conclude the wedding. the weirdest part was all night i kept having "flashes" of things and people i saw that night, like i was reliving the whole thing, but this time being able to see the details. it was so amazing. and W and i were up all night talking about that day, what we had each experienced and felt and saw and heard.

sunday morning we met up with W's mom to spend a little time with her (and check out her new 350Z!!) before heading home to pack for our honeymoon. we made it home in time to throw our things together and rush over to my parent's house for dinner before heading over to SFO to catch our flight to atlanta which would then take us to cancun!

cancun was soooo awesome, a perfect end to a chaotic few weeks. we stayed at the JW Marriott, which was an amazing hotel, and very affordable, especially now in the off-season. we ate soooo much food (it was sooo delicious!!) and i had the best mango margarita i've ever had (and actually finished it! ha!). the caribbean sea was soooo warm and clear and the sandy beaches were so clean and white. we relaxed mostly, but did go to xel-ha, a natural eco park, where we swam with dolphins (the highlight of the trip for me), snorkeled with a ton of fish, jumped off the "cliff of courage," floated down the lazy river, snorkeled some more, and swam into the ancient sacred caves (kinda freaky, but very cool). we also went to chichen-itza, the ancient mayan ruins about 100 miles outside cancun in the yucatan. it's an unofficial wonder of the world, and it's just amazing.

then it was back home...home, sweet home.

pictures from our honeymoon are on the right, enjoy. :)

i was sooo looking forward to my pumpkin spice latte from starbucks, which they only offer during the fall...and they were all out of pumpkin spice!! :( so i had to settle for a hazelnut latte. just not the same... will try again tomorrow.

so it's really coming down to the wire. the major stuff is done, just a few little details, but i have so many thoughts running thru my mind. and none of them hang around long enough for me to think of writing them down. *sigh*

w bought yet another digital camera. we have 3 now. this latest edition is awfully cute though, a little sony cyber-shot U60, looks like R2D2. :) it's water proof and very rugged looking, should be great for cancun!

okey dokes, back to work...

well, i'm as free as a bird now...

i can't help but have free bird running thru my head as i leave yet another job. it was running thru my head the last time i quit my job too. it's just so...freeing.

it still feels kinda surreal, like i'll be waking up in the morning to go to work tomorrow. but i'm sure it'll hit me soon enough. i wasn't planning to get into things too much during my exit interview, but then i thought, what the hell. i let everything out, how disappointed i am at the lack of leadership in my department. how i felt strung along for so long, over a YEAR, thinking i'd be manager only to have them string me along some more. it's all just a bunch of bull and i'm over it. people would say "well it's our loss" and i would think, "hell yeah, it's your loss, you made the mistake of not helping me advance in my career, so now you've lost your chance and i'm outta here." the GM, director of food and beverage and director of sales tried to get me to stay. they told me they would make me manager on the spot and give me a raise. i turned them down. but the lame ass director of catering, the man who would've been my boss, didn't say a word to me. he didn't even thank me for helping out the department for the past 6 weeks. not a single word. bastard. i'm so glad to be outta that situation. i just feel bad for the poor souls i've left behind. i just hope it gets better. i just hope they find a way to can the loser.

the best part though is the overwhelming support i've received, from the people who know. it's sad to leave all the great friends i've made, but i'm sure we'll remain friends for a long time. i just hope they get outta there before they're pulled under.

hmm...now what do i do? oh yeah, i have a wedding to plan. i'm this close to freaking out. i still can't find shoes. and my mother is stressing me out, but not on purpose. it's better that i have as little contact as possible with anybody for the next 9 days. so this time off will be very good for me. :)

i got my gmail account before google introduced it to the public. my friend works there and gave me the beta version to test out. it was great cuz i have a very popular name and it's always taken. so for the first time i got an email address with just my name, without a number attached, or a bunch of initials with a combination of numbers. but now i keep getting emails to me that aren't for me!!! this is very irritating. i'm thinking of going back to my name with a serious of numbers and/or letters. eh, what do i care, i primarily use my yahoo email (which sometimes does weird things on me too).

one more week to go! :)

the last 4 days have just been a big blur. here's kinda the short version:

thursday
1:00PM gave my 2 weeks (omigosh, even I can't believe it!!) just 2 hours before leaving for the airport
6:30PM off to hawaii for G's wedding!
10:30PM get to hotel, exhausted (cuz it's actually 1:30AM, waaaay past my bedtime)

friday
6:00AM woke up, cuz it's actually 9AM
10:30AM with the bride and other bridesmaids, head off to chinatown (which is more like philipino/vietnamese town, very strange) to buy flowers
1:00PM eat lunch at oceanarium and watch the crazy lady feed the fish in the GIANT aquarium (kinda lost my appetite)
4:30PM off to Germaine's Luau for the rehearsal dinner
11:00PM in bed, exhausted

saturday
7:30AM woke up, think i'm finally getting adjusted to the time change. go for walk and get some coffee
10:45AM the preparation begins...
1:45PM gather in the lobby to pile into the shuttle taking us to paradise cove for the wedding
3:00PM finally get to paradise cove, only to bake in the hot sun, followed by being swept away in the hurricane-like winds shortly after
5:00PM wedding celebration of G and A, very nice, but way too windy
9:00PM ready to call it a night, shuttle is waiting to take first group of party poopers back to hotel. :P
12:15PM in bed, exhausted

sunday
7:45AM woke up, definitely adjusted to the time change
9:00AM said goodbye to V and S, K and i get breakfast and walk around waikiki, my first time the entire weekend
11:30AM waikiki express shuttle comes to take us back to airport
2:30PM on my way back home to CA
12:00AM finally get home, home sweet home
1:15AM finally lay down for bed (which is now like 10:15PM) knowing i'll be so exhausted at work, which i have to wake up for in 4 hours. dread.

and now it's monday. work was a little crazy, everyone coming up to me "is it true??" and many "talks" with various directors and the GM. for the past two or so weeks, i've been have "digestive problems" which i attributed to work related stress. funny, the day i gave notice and left for hawaii, those problems seemed to disappear. hmm.
