.:: y'om say'n? word. ::.

a friend and former coworker wore this t-shirt on one casual friday, i recall it was orange, and the back of the shirt had the phrase "y'om say'n?" on it. i asked him, "what's that?" his response: "y'om say'n?" and from that day on, everytime he wore that shirt, he'd see me and say "y'om say'n?" and i'd respond with "word."

my weekend:
saturday - chi delta theta alumni event at the tech museum. made me feel super old, but nice to see some old faces.
sunday - almost done with the thank you cards...it's very labor-intensive! but i guess that's my own fault.
monday - finally went boarding for the first (and probably only) time this season! it was GREAT!

some days are good running days, others are just plain crappy. good running days are the days when i feel like i can run forever and ever...my breathing is good, my body feels good, nothing is hurting. crappy running days i run 2 miles and feel like i'm gonna pass out. either my hip feels achy (which has been an ongoing problem recently, especially when i walk, but now sometimes when i run too...) or i feel like i'm suffocating (it could just be bad breathing techniques, but i like to think it's caused by too many ppl in the gym breathing up all the oxygen). :( and can someone please tell me why i get that awful cramp in my rib? the kind that feels like someone is stabbing you over and over in your rib cage? how do i avoid that? i do nothing differently on those days that i cramp up, so i can't figure out what i'm doing (or not doing) to cause this pain. sucks.

saturday morning, i got a call from my friend Y, aka 9 months. her water broke! but they haven't called back to tell me anymore news. i can't believe it...i've known her since the 2nd grade. she's the first of our group from high school to have a baby. this is so exciting, i can't stand it!

spent the long holiday weekend in oceanside, visiting W's mom and sister, as well as attending a dual baby shower (two pairs of expectant parents). this was the first baby shower i've ever been to with a keg. haha...leave it to W's [alcoholic] friends! but it was a nice little party. it poured the entire time we were there, which made driving/traffic a b*tch. it's weird to think just last year about this time we were in SD and it was in the 70's and ppl were wearing tank tops and shorts at the beach! strange indeed.

Y, if somehow you're reading this, i hope all is well with the little one, and we can't wait to meet him!

driving thru big puddles and splashing water in that cool arched stream is almost as fun as driving thru a big pile of dry leaves and scattering them all over the road. :)

one of the few shows we actually watch together is smallville. and for some time now, i really wanted to watch the superman movies cuz i couldn't remember them. well, lucky us, superman was on tv this weekend, and i had forgotten how cheesy it was. or maybe when i saw it many many years ago, i thought it was so cool that i didn't notice the cheesiness. movies are so different now, it's hard to say if what was considered "cool" back then would still be as cool now.

i can't believe freddy and kendra won! kris and john were supposed to win! i'm just so relieved that hayden and aaron didn't win, or else i would've just boycotted the show all together. hmm...okay, not really. only 3 more weeks til AR7!

so i've decided i'm going to give up beef. and sweets. all forms of sweets and refined sugar. man, this may be tougher than i thought. oh well. i have to give it a shot. i guess i will be drinking my coffee black for the next 40 days. hrm...well, it's how i used to drink it when i first started anyways.

oh, and happy lunar new year!

even tho i haven't been to church in forever, i still like to give up something for lent. this may sound silly to some, but it's one of the few things catholic that i stil do. just to do it. and usually i give up chocolate, or ice cream, or something i overendulge in. this year, i'm having troubles trying to figure out what to give up. since i'm back on my body for life routine (well, not as strict as my first round), i don't eat so much junk food, therefore giving up chocolate or cheese won't be such a big deal. all the things i love are actually good for me. i mean, what do i give up? fruit? green tea? water??? hmm...i need to think about this more. i guess it doesn't have to be food related. i could give up surfing the web...haha, yeah right. that would be like asking me to cease to exhist. :P

on another note, i REALLY want this.

i've been trying hard not to spend too much time playing video games. it's so easy to waste your whole entire day playing one game. those game designers know this, and make it so you never stop playing. it's pretty scary if you think about it...the kind of mind control they have over you. so i got my brand spankin' new copy of street puzzle fighter II turbo yesterday. it was one of the games on my birthday wishlist. amazingly, it's been quite a challenge to find old playstation games, and found several on eBay for way more than they were worth brand new when they first came out! still in search of bust a groove, the first one, which i've only been able to find on eBay for ridiculous amounts of money (about $50 used, $85 new, are you nuts?). if anyone knows where i can get my hands on a copy of bust a groove (new or used, reasonably priced, in good condition) please let me know!!! i must have this game!!! i can't find my burned copy that i played on our chipped playstation, and it's driving me mad. >:(
