5 straight days of eating humongoid lunches has totally turned me off to food. seriously.

friday: super burrito with spicy pork from mama lupes (and they're not exaggerating when they say super)
saturday: crepevine with some friends, had the most delicious santa fe savory crepe, topped off by a banana dessert crepe with caramel rum sauce!
sunday: half a tuna melt on a bagel and half a turkey sandwich on spinach/cheese bagel...way too much bagel
monday: el torito's for boss's birthday, and HUGE platter of carnitas michoacan (try it, seriously, it's sooooo delicious)
tuesday: working lunch/meeting at macaroni grill, HUGE baked penne rustica that i ate 2 bites of and wrapped up the rest cuz i ate too much bread and calamari.

ohmigosh, just thinking about all this food is making me sick.

i will be fasting for the next 3 days to balance me out. heh.

tyler florence was at draeger's for a booksigning today. he looks just like he does on tv! he's a little chubbier than i thought he would be, but still just as adorable. he prepared hors d'oeuvres from his book and there was plenty of wine flowing. i think it'd be kinda cool to be a celebrity chef. food network has made cooking and entertaining so cool.

i have a korean coworker, f. we call her KAP. korean american princess. she should be KAQ, korean american queen. she is the most high-maintenance, chanel-jacket-wearing, burberry-shoes-wearing, $500-caviar-night-creaming girl i've ever had the pleasure of meeting (note my sarcasm). now, i know plenty of high-maintenance [asian] girls, but she is the dictionary definition. the only difference between her and the others is that f seems to love flaunting the material things she's got (because she talks about it allllll the time; i swear every conversation i have with her she has to mention that she grew up in blackhawk). i'm at the point where i just tune her out cuz i'm so not interested. i hate to say it, but she makes all us asian girls look really dumb. everyone at the office rolls their eyes and snickers at her behind her back. and if we didn't work together, i would have no reason to even pretend to like her. hmph.

on another note, i got new glasses on tuesday, and i love them! they're a little funky and fun, and i can actually see outta them! tho i'm not so impressed with the transitions lenses. they only get dark when i'm directly in the sun, and even then, they don't really get dark enough. oh well, better than nothing i guess?

i thought i'd be good this morning and wake up at the crack of dawn to go to the gym, cuz, well, i've been feeling super blah lately and refuse to go to the gym after work knowing there will be no machines available. there were a million cars already on the road before 6am, and i should've seen this as a bad sign. what are ppl out here doing up so early? when we lived in ssf and i would go to the gym before work, there were hardly any cars on the streets and only like a dozen ppl at the gym! so i get to the gym and it's hella crowded! of course all the treadmills are taken so i settled for an elliptical, had a mediocre workout, and left cuz i was so irritated. these ppl are killin me...

on a brighter note, i found a "shortcut" to work that cut out about 5-10 minutes!! it's not technically a shortcut cuz it's longer in mileage, but who cares, i get to work faster! yea!

food for thought

this morning we decided to make the short trek out to ikea to pick up a couple bookshelves for our office. we got there just after they opened, and went straight to the eatery where we got 2 breakfast plates (scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns), a giant cinnamon roll, a bottle of water and a cup of coffee for $4. the breakfast plates were only 99 cents! what a bargain!

i work right around the corner from otis spunkmeyer. and they have a little store out front. my boss has been bringing back a dozen cookies everyday he's in the office (which was every day last week). they're insanely delicious, and warm! friday after work, i stopped by on my way home, and bought a pound of frozen cookie dough that was on sale for only $2.65!! again, what a bargain! so today after dinner, i baked 6 of them, knowing if i baked all 12 (they're individually frozen balls of cookie dough that you just plop onto a cookie sheet) we would proceed to eat all 12. and that would be soooo bad, since each cookie has 10 grams of fat. yikes. i try not to think about that when i'm eating them.

we both had eye doc appts today (we have the same doc and when i made my appt, they noticed he was overdue...busted). we both got our eyes dilated. not a good idea for both of us to be blind. and we drove separately, so we both had to get ourselves home, figure out what to do about dinner, finally decided on a mexican restaurant downtown, and then proceeded to try to read the menu. it was pretty comical.

i looooooove my new haircut! whee!!! i didn't go too short, i'll wait til summer time for my chin-length bob. but she cut off about 6 inches of length and really layered and textured it. i love it!! i love my stylist, she rocks! i seriously feel 10 pounds lighter.

so now that j's wedding has come and gone, i can finally cut my hair! it's just as long as it was for my own wedding! and it's driving me crazy. but now that i've made my appt (tomorrow after work), i'm getting kinda sad. i hate my hair, but i also love it. i mean, you have to admit, there is something very feminine and sexy about long, lovely locks. hrm. well, i've made up my mind, i'm chopping it off!

i finally finished my hello kitty sweater. actually, it didn't take me long at all, so finally isn't really the right word. anyways, it doesn't fit. the body is kinda short and weird, and the sleeves are really long and big. so i refuse to wear it, but here's a picture of it anyway. it's so cute. i have no idea what to do with it now...
