okay, this
makes me feel a little better. although it's on the nalgene
website, so i'm sure they picked the "right" links. but still...BPA and
phthalates are everywhere!! i guess the morale of the story is,
everything will either kill you or give you cancer (which could kill
you). hmph.

ohmigosh, best season finale ever goes to
"lost." soooo good! i like the korean couple cuz i can actually
understand what they're saying. i think it's interesting that they don't
translate everything. both actors are actually very fluent in english
too.

hello summer, welcome back!
it's
finally warming up. and by warming up, i mean more like really heating
up! this weather we've been having lately has been quite unpredictable.
but looks like the next week at least will be sunny! i need to
reacclimate my body to warm temps. the thermometer says 81, and it
definitely feels like it. it's really hot, especially upstairs, but it's
kind of a nice warmth. *happy*

our first track day of the year went
extremely well. and so i guess it's official, my integra will now be the
official track car. it's kinda sad, cuz she's my baby! but W thought it
did really well on the track, and would be easy to do simple
modifications to make it faster and handle better. the event overall was
pretty cool, with all levels of drivers on the track, from super
beginner to very skilled drivers with very fast cars. there was actually
racing going on too. this was our first NASA event, and the first time
for W on thunderhill with a
car (he rode his bike for a track day years ago), and it turned out to
be a great experience. especially for W, who drove on the track with an
instructor who gave him a few pointers to sharpen his skills. and his
instructor had an NSX too! later that afternoon, we were just hanging
out by our cars, and met a guy who was part of opak racing, who introduced us to
some of the spoon sports guys. and we got to take a closer look at the
spoon sports/opak racing DC5. it was built in japan, and shipped over
here. it's right-hand drive and soooo cool! i got to sit in it, which
was the highlight for me! i'm hoping we get more involved with the NSX
groups in the bay area, and also get to know the opak guys better so
they can help tune the integra. hmm...i wonder if they're hiring? ;)
i can't wait to go to more of these, and maybe next time i'll
drive on the track too. one thing's for sure, i will definitely protect
myself better from the hot-hot sun (they said it was going to reach 90
degrees, and looking at my beautiful sunburn lines on my arms, i think
they were right).
here are some pictures...

i don't know why i didn't do this sooner,
and i really wish i had. i went to target yesterday to buy some allergy
meds. back in college, i tried allegra (which was super expensive, about
$1/pill), and it didn't do anything for me. then i started getting "the
shot" and that pretty much helped me thru some horrible allergy seasons.
until my last year when i found out (after 2 years of getting shot) that
there are terrible side effects!! great, thanks for telling me after
i've been getting it for 2 years. i toughed out my last year without
taking any medicines, which was miserable. so i was strolling down the
medicine aisle at target, and decided to get some claritin. man, that
stuff is expensive!! $30?! then, right next to it i see the generic
target brand. it was only $8!! uh, yes, i'll take the generic, thanks. i
took one today, a bit apprehensive, thinking this wasn't gonna help at
all, but low and behold, it works! i mean, it doesn't make me feel
allergy-free, but man, i feel so much better!!
it's really hot.

gosh, it's been a while since i've
updated! this might be the longest time i've spent away from my blog! i
just haven't had much to say i guess...and been extremely busy at work,
which is rare, but good i guess. and plus i'm battling my allergies,
which seem to be in full force this year, i suspect due to our locale. i
may need to buy some meds. dread...
so our first track day of the
year is coming up this weekend! w is taking my car on the track for the
first time...i'm scared, but excited. hehe. i may need a new clutch
after saturday.
