YIPPEE!! my new shoes arrived today!
while we were in europe, i noticed that the old school nike airs from like freshman year in college were in style, and a bunch of ppl had them! so when we got home, i jumped onto nike's website to see what was going on. they brought back my favorite nike airs! the ones i wore so much the air bubbles had popped, and soles were completely worn down. they were so cool, all silver. well, now they have them so you can customize your colors!! sooo cool! so of course i HAD to buy a pair! i do feel a little weird that they were shipped from ho chi minh (according to UPS tracking) which has sweatshop written all over it (remember the whole big controversy with nike ID shoes years ago???). :( but i can't help but LOVE my shoes! :) i know, i know...i'm easy to please. but everyone keeps telling me that we need to buy things we want now cuz that'll all change once we start having kids. so i'm just taking their advice!

today we went to the greek festival, where we ate gyros, fries, calamari and baklava. it's no wonder i haven't lost any weight since we got back from europe, i'm eating really bad, even tho i work out almost every single friggin day. but then again, i guess it's better that i do work out, cuz if i didn't, i think i'd weigh about 500 lbs.
yesterday we went to dinner with W's coworker and wife to a really great peruvian restaurant downtown, los cabos II. i've always wanted to try peruvian, and this place sounded like the real deal. i can't wait to go back and try more dishes!

i don't remember how i came across this article (it was a very slow day at work), but it's kinda crazy to think that just 40 years ago, it was illegal for W and i to get married. not to mention many of our inter-racial friends. crazy! here's a whole website about the loving decision. i wish i had known about the loving day festivities sooner, i would have totally thrown a huge party to celebrate loving day! i guess i'll have to wait til the big 50th anniversary then! you're all invited! :)

first day at the new building...and the verdict is still mixed.
the cons:
1. the set-up of the cubes is horrible. the walls are really low, so you can hear everybody's business. and see everybody's business! there is no sense of personal space. i don't know how we're expected to work in this environment.
2. we don't have enough ppl for a water/ice machine.
3. we have one coffee machine (that also dispenses hot water for my tea), and it was broken this morning.
4. we have one copy machine and it was broken today.
5. the deli downstairs is way too expensive for what they're serving (and obviously not subsidized by lehman like our cafeteria in the old building).
6. the parking situation is okay, tho still really pissed off that we don't all get covered parking in the garage, which was nowhere near full.
7. i don't get to see all my wholesale friends anymore.
8. one side of the floor is blazing hot (that would be my side) while the other is artic cold.
9. we're on the 10th floor and i hate elevators!
the pros:
1. the commute was a breeze. coworker J and i carpooled from our old building (she lives out in the sticks), and it only took us 13 minutes to get there, 16 minutes to drive back.
2. tons of great places to eat nearby, and i mean in walking distance.
so as you can see, there are many more cons than pros. i'm not thrilled, but it's not that bad. just need time to adjust. i'm hoping we grow out of the space soon (which is a good possibility if we continue to grow our team), and have to move back. :)

friday was our last day at our old office. today we were able to go to our new building and make sure everything was in working order. the location of it is actually pretty cool, close to a ton of great eateries, including my favorite japanese place, kiki's. close to wash park and cherry creek (which could be a bad thing for my bank account). and the office doesn't seem as roomy as our old space, the cubes are bigger, but they're closer to each other, and the walls are really short, so while you're sitting, you can see all your neighbors. but...the view of downtown and the mountains is pretty spectacular. hopefully the commute won't kill me, cuz i think it could be fun working here.
i took the NSX to the new office, and on my way home, i saw another NSX and he waved. :)

while we were at M&K's house in berlin, they introduced us to fresh squeezed juice. we thought it was a berlin thing to have great, fresh squeezed juice, but apparently it's an M&K thing. :) well, after having some of the best juice i've ever had, W and i couldn't wait to get our own juicer! we got the same one that M&K got, and we just can't stop juicing! what do we juice, you ask? following M&K's lead, we start with a base of apples, oranges and carrots. then we add whatever fruits & veggies we feel like! so far that's been grapes, kiwi, honeydew, strawberries, beets (surprisingly good, and very nutritious!), and i've just bought a mango which i can't wait to try! sounds so 80's/nutritional fad/tv infomercial-like, i know, but strange as it sounds, i actually look forward to drinking juice everyday!![]()
and here's just a cute pic of my coworker's foster kittens. she's a foster parent for kittens from the animal shelter that are too small to be adopted. they're so cute! we went rollerblading and when we got back to her place, there they were...![]()

i got really crappy news this morning at work...they're moving the retail sales and ops teams to the new building. so now my perfect little 3.5 mile commute to work will be 12.7!!! boo. it won't be too bad when the weather's nice, but come winter, when it's snowing and i have to crawl along the freeway going like 5 mph...yeah, it's really gonna suck. i'm not very happy about this, nor are half the retail ppl that live in south metro. but i guess it's better than the alternatives, like being jobless, or worse, joining the wholesale team! wah. and gas is ridiculous since we got back from our trip. it went up over 50 cents in a span of 2.5 weeks! it took me $51 to fill up my subie, and $80 to fill up the durango! sh*t. uh, yeah, i'm gonna need a raise...
okay, so our europe pics are finally ready, but i'll have to post tomorrow...
